Dear Friends and Supporters,

We hope this letter finds you all well and welcoming signs of spring as we are here in Beijing. Just when we thought spring was on our doorstep, we were surprised this month to get our first and only snow fall of the season! Thankfully, it came and went quickly and as you can see from the photos, we are now enjoying warmer weather and time outside.

As we’ve welcomed spring this month, we’ve also welcomed a number of groups to our home. The month was kicked off with a group from SWEA (Swedish Women’s Association) who came and did a cooking activity with our children. Although only some of the older children were excited to participate and get their hands dirty, most were definitely excited to eat! The group also donated four play kitchens from IKEA to be placed in each of our nurseries.

We also hosted a group of 8th grade students from Hope International School here in Beijing. They spent 3 nights with us as part of their Enrichment week and along with many hours spent playing with the children, they also shared some performances and helped with some cleaning projects around the home.

Lastly, we hosted an overnight group from Georgia (USA) organized by Joshua Expeditions. Although their stay was brief, they helped us with some cleaning projects, office work and scrapbooks.

With joyous hearts,

Robin, Joyce and the New Hope Staff

“So do not fear for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)

The much-awaited annual Cook-for-Hope event, organized by Love for Orphans in collaboration with Roundabout, will be happening on April 19th at the Green T. House in Beijing. We expect 200+ guests will be in attendance this year with 10 teams competing. Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit baby Sisa who is currently in the hospital awaiting a liver transplant. Costs for her surgery are expected to be approximately $50,000 (USD). We are still looking for sponsors for this event as well as cash donations. Please contact Becca for more info.
