Child Spotlight: David
English Name: David
Gender: Male
Age: 15 years
Enjoys: Quiet times and colorful surroundings

Meet David! What an honor to have known him since 2018 and to now be able to share with you a little about his inspiring life.
David was born in 2009 with cerebral palsy. Due to his diagnosis, he has found subtle and beautiful ways to communicate, enjoy the world around him, and conquer both big and small challenges. The staff at the Hope Healing Home is dedicated to learning and understanding these subtleties, and in doing so, has formed incredibly close bonds with this sweet young boy.
David enjoys being surrounded by bright colors, and his nanny does a wonderful job at finding spaces for him to soak in his surroundings. One of his favorite places to lounge is the ball pit laying amongst the brightly colored balls and feeling them roll gently across his arms and legs. He also likes soft materials like stuffed animals, fuzzy blankets, or the comforting sweater his nanny wears when she holds him.
David has such a warm and mild demeanor. A perfect day for him might look like rice cereal for breakfast, looking at and listening to some musical light-up toys, hanging out in the ball pit, then ending the day with a warm bath and massage before snuggling up with his nanny for a book or a song.
David has had many fun memories at his Healing Home, like joining in preschool classes, creating artwork with his teachers, soaking in the kiddie pool on a hot summer day, going for a stroll to take in the sweet smell of peonies, and getting so much attention when visitors came by. But there is something extra sweet about the quiet, intentional time that is spent when the activities are fewer, the echoes in the halls quieter, and the sweet, warm embrace of his most trusted caregivers are there to give him their full attention and love.
The name David means “beloved,” and our boy is exactly that. At the time of this writing, David is in the hospital. Will you join us in praying for his health and future, as well as sharing in thanks for the blessing that he is?
