Stories of Hope
Child Spotlight: Jonathan & Rafael
Hi, we are Jonathan and Rafael, 1.5 year old twin boys. We are from Henan Province and were admitted into the care of one of New Hope Foundation’s Care Centers in Henan in September of 2017 when we were just 3 days old. We were both born with a gastrointestinal condition although our cases are unique, just like each of us.
Jonathan & Rafael as babies
Although we are twins and we spend most of our time together, we are really quite different, and each have very unique personalities. I, Rafael am quiet and I like to stay close to my nanny, especially when there are new people around. I, Jonathan am very active and outgoing and I love to be a part of anything and everything that’s going on around me, whether it’s in my room our out in the hall. One of my favorite things to do is to follow my nurse, Ednalyn, while she does her daily morning rounds.
We both especially enjoy going out for walks together in our double stroller. We love being outside. We both also really love music and anytime there’s music playing around us you will find us moving to the beat! Some mornings we join the nurses in their kitchen after their morning rounds and listen to music with them and dance.
Please keep Rafael and Jonathan in your prayers as we seek the best care for their medical needs. Pray that they will continue to grow stronger and stronger each day and that they will together soon be found in the love and security of a forever family. If you’d like to learn a bit more about them, you can visit the Our Children page and click on their photos. You can also email us to find out how to help these two precious boys and other children in our care.
