Lots of Rest and Children Blessed!

Another year has passed on the lunar calendar, and a new year has begun. For us, this means that Chinese New Year 2025 is in full swing at Maria’s Luoyang Hope Healing Home!
Chinese New Year, also called the Spring Festival, is the biggest holiday in China by far and is celebrated for seven straight days. Traditionally, it is seen as a time of rest after a long year of providing for one’s family. To this day, workers in China get these seven days off from their jobs so they can spend time with family and friends.
While adults celebrate with time off, plenty of rest, and lots of good food, the youngest in the family are the happy recipients of the traditional gift-giving of this holiday. It’s a time that is designated for children and teenagers to receive special “blessings” from the adults around them.
In this sense, you could say that it is Chinese New Year the year round at New Hope Foundation! We exist to be a blessing to these precious young lives that have been placed into our care. We are so thankful to have nurses, nannies, and other staff who are willing to give their all to see that the children are deeply loved and well taken care of.
Our amazing supporters help to make this all possible, and we are extremely grateful for each and every one. We hope you will enjoy seeing the children dressed up in their traditional outfits for the holiday in the photo galleries below.
